Itchenor sailors nab the XOD honours at Cowes Week

The entries exceeded 80 boats and overall for the week Itchenor Xs were first, seocnd and fourth.

This year it was the turn of Steven and Peter Lawrence with Paddy Smart in Catherine to win the coveted Captain’s Cup, which they had previously won in 2010.

Last year’s winner Andy Shaw, sailing with his father Alastair and Alan Roberts, were second in Phoenix.

The Lass team of Richard Bullock, Jeremy Lear and John Tremlett were a close fourth.

The Itchenor fleet made up 15 of the entries and such were their results that they retained the Phillipson Shield, awarded to the top XOD division in competition with the other six from along the south coast.
