IT'S A DISASTER FOR SOUTHWICK

A MIDDLE order collapse - which saw Southwick lose five wickets for six runs in 18 balls - reduced Saturday's Invitation League match on the Green to a one horse race.Billingshurst '” for whom spinner Shane Maggs took 5-13 in 5.2 overs '” only needed 17.5 overs to reach their modest target of 89 and a crushing nine-wicket victory.

Southwick skipper Paul Grennan, who took the only Billingshurst wicket to fall, had no excuses for his team's disappointing performance. "The wicket did a bit early on and Billingshurst bowled well. But we were outplayed and there's not very much one can do with such a small toal to defend," he commented afterwards.
