IT'S NOT GREEN'S DAY

JEREMY GREEN starred with the bat and ball for Steyning Cricket Club on Saturday but his side still lost by five wickets to Littlehampton. After gaining their first win of the season at East Grinstead last weekend, Steyning would have been confident of making it two on the bounce but things did not turn out that way.

Green struck 63 in Steyning's total of 171 all out. His innings included six fours before he was taken on the long-on boundary by an excellent catch from Littlehampton captain Stuart Stoneham.

Together with Simon McNiff, Green shared a 65-run second wicket partnership which gave Steyning a chance to build a 200-plus target.
