It's Ton Zone not Tone Zone in Bognor's 10k

Tone Zone Runners again had the largest club entry in the Bognor 10k.

They smashed their previous record by fielding 105 runners for this popular event – the highest-ever team entry for the event.

Stephen Mcloughlin and Simon Gill finished sixth and ninth in 34.39 and 34.44 respectively with three more further Tone Zone members finishing in the top 40.

The times of the first three Tone Zone runners – David Prickett being their third man home – meant the club were awarded the first place in the men’s team race, pushing Chichester to second.

ToneZone runner Marius Vitauskas closely followed the leader and eventual winner Tadele Geremew for the first 500m but eventually finished 36th.

New runner Louisa Proctor was the first Tone Zone lady home setting a new impressive personal best and finishing 17th overall.

With Anna Kari Enes and Samantha James close behind, Tone Zone finished second in the ladies’ team event.

Head coach Keith Hardwell’s flag-carrying pace-setters were again used to good effect.

The pacers carried guides of 50, 55 and 60 minutes are were invaluable to many runners around the course.

This race had been a target for many new runners who joined the club during the winter, and months of dedicated training with qualified running coaches were rewarded.

Personal bests were achieved by many Tone Zoners and next year’s numbers look set to increase even further.
