Jessie represents Britain at European championship

A YOUNG West Sussex rider has been representing Britain in the European Show Jumping Championships at Hoofddorp in Holland over five days.

Jessie Drea (17) of Broadbridge Heath, near Horsham, was selected for the five-strong British Junior Show Jumping team after catching team selectors' attention with her outstanding performance in International Nations Cup events.

Jessie started riding seriously at the age of 13 and achieved considerable success with ponies, culminating in a string of successes last year, which earned her the title of 'Rider of the Month' in both March and November.

She made the transition to horses this year and was chosen for the British junior team after catching selectors' eyes in several Nations Cup events on home ground.
