JONES IS THE DIFFERENCE

SAM JONES' magnificent century on Saturday gained Portslade Cricket Club their first win of the season against a Clymping side who are still awaiting their first victory since relegation from Division 2 last year.

Jones finished on 111 not out as Portslade needed 210 to win from 44 overs. Opening with Howick they set off at a blistering pace and were 130-0 off only 26 overs when the first wicket fell. Howick was caught on the boundary by Richard Waddington after he had smashed Karl Pierce's delivery back over his head.
