JONES' TON IS IN VAIN

PORTSLADE Cricket Club captain Sam Jones still believes his side can gain promotion this season after a batting collapse cost them dear at Ram on Saturday.

Jones said: "Our aim is to still get promotion but we've got a lot of hard work to do. However, there's no reason why we can't go up. We've got a young side and are learning as we go along."

Jones and his brother, Luke, were the only Portslade batsmen to reach double figures. Sam Jones '” coming in at No 5 '” after being hit on the shoulder while fielding at point struck an unbeaten 105. It was his second century of the season.
