Jordan on the right track

JORDAN Wood may only be seven-years-old but he's already making quite a name for himself on the motocross tracks of the South East.

The Little Ridge School pupil finished third in the East Kent Schoolboy Scramble Club Championship and also nabbed the Most Improved Rider of the Year award.

"We're very proud of him," said father Anthony. "I didn't expect him to do this well and a lot of it's down to him having a new (KTM) bike."

The highlight of Jordan's year in the six to eight years series came right at the end when he won the final round at Beaconsfield to nudge him up a spot into the top three overall. He also bagged several top three finishes en route to a rise of seven places up the standings from his debut year in 2003. No less than 36 riders took part in the 10 round championship.
