Katie's saddlery firm plugs gap in market

AFTER completing a three-year apprenticeship with Master saddler Geoffrey Dean, who has now retired, Katie Jones (25) has set up her own saddlery business, with her partner Graham, in the heart of Findon village - plugging a gap left in the area when her former tutor called it a day.

Her choice of location is appropriate, with Southdown Saddlery based in the High Street of Findon village, famed for its racing stables and horses.

"I have Geoffrey to thank for my five-year apprenticeship. He was a thorough teacher and showed me the best way to do everything. Because of his tuition I did well in my training," she said.
