KEEPER MARK SEES RED

MILD-MANNERED Mark Ormerod was sent off on Saturday when Rebels became Braintree's first victims in eight league starts.

The Worthing keeper, booked just once in his 39 appearances this season, had picked the ball out of the net from Alex Revell's penalty and kicked it into touch not far from, although reportedly a safe distance away from, the retreating the linesman who had signalled the foul.

The linesman flagged and the dismissal of a bemused Ormerod followed. Rebels lost 3-0.

On Tuesday, Marc Pullan's first Worthing goal earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Billericay.
