Kvitova and defending champ Bencicset for Devonshire Park

Double Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova and reigning tournament champion Belinda Bencic will play at the Aegon International Eastbourne in June.

The top-ten ranked duo will both be returning to the grass courts of Devonshire Park as part of their preparations for The Championships, Wimbledon.

Rising star of women’s tennis Bencic, will look to repeat of her 2015 success when she lifted the famous trophy after overcoming Agnieszka Radwanska in the final. Kvitova will be making her fifth appearance at Eastbourne and has fond memories of the tournament after making the final in 2011, before going on to claim her first Wimbledon title.

The Aegon International Eastbourne takes place from 18-25 June 2016 and is an integral part of the British grass court season, which features 11 international grass-court tournaments in eight venues across the country.

Kvitova said, “This tournament is one of the stand out events of the calendar. The atmosphere, the excellent venue and the fans all go towards making Eastbourne a great tournament. I think it is the best preparation for Wimbledon and I have some fun memories here. I’m excited to get back on the courts.”
