Last gasp Rose clinches Sidley win

A LATE goal from Kevin Rose saw Sidley United through to the third round of the RUR Charity Cup.

County Second Division side Steyning Town proved tougher than expected opposition for top-flight Sidley.

The game was far from a cup thriller, with the bad pitch and long grass slowing the pace. Goal-mouth action was restricted to a few shots flashed wide and a decent effort by Graham Morris that hit the upright.

A lapse in concentration at the death by the Steyning keeper allowed Rose to head in a long throw, but the 1-0 victory was far from convincing.
