Let me play, pleads young bowls ace

YOUNG bowls talent Stuart Holland believes he's being discriminated against by his club - Egerton Park - following his continual non-selection for their Sussex League games.

Stuart, 14, represented Sussex in the finals of the National Indoor Under-25 Championships recently but is frustrated by a lack of opportunities at club level.

The final straw came recently when he was asked to make himself available for the last league game of the season and, after arranging to take the day off work without pay, was again left out.

Stuart, who reached the last eight of the club singles last year, said: "It's been ridiculous all season really. I've beaten some of the players in it but they (the selection committee) keep making excuses."

Norman Hooper, team manager of EPBC, responded: "I did try and put him in three times last year but all he does is ring up telling me he's packing shelves in Sainsbury's. He will get his chance."
