Lewes boss delays shake-up plan

LEWES manager Steve King admits the current crop of injuries at the Dripping Pan are giving him grey hairs.

He said: 'I've not known anything like this in my four years here, it's definitely ageing me.'

Not surprisingly the Rooks's manager has put his plans for a shake-up at the club on hold until the injury crisis recedes.

He was full of praise for the squad's performance against Oxford United in the FA Trophy replay on Tuesday evening when the Rooks went down narrowly 1-0, but it was at a cost as Simon Wormull and Paul Kennett had to be substituted through injuries.

'Simon Wormull got a bad knock on an ankle from a bad tackle as he cleared the ball, and he's likely to be out for two weeks,' said King. 'Paul Kennett has a problem with his groin again and he's questionable for Saturday's visit from Sutton United.

'Jean-Michel Sigere won't play against Sutton '“ he's been in bed for a week with flu and migraine attacks and has lost half a stone in weight '“ but I'm hoping Paul Booth will play a part in the Sussex Senior Cup tie at Selsey on Tuesday.'

Chris Sharpling, signed from Woking and who can play up front or wide, will be in the squad for the Sutton game.
