Lewes paired with Halifax

LEWES Football Club have been drawn at home to Halifax Town in the second round of the FA Trophy if they can beat Oxford United in Wednesday's first-round replay.

The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 13, with 5,000 going to the winners.

Lewes held Conference National leaders Oxford to a goalless draw at the Dripping Pan on Saturday in front of a disappointing crowd of 723.

Manager Steve King fielded new goalkeeper David Blackmore, 17, who is on loan from West Ham, and he made several fine saves.

The nearest Lewes came to scoring was when Gary Holloway hit the foot of a post with the Oxford goalkeeper Billy Turley beaten.
