Another close frame saw the dangerous Trevor Donohue gaining the lead for the B’s by taking out the marauding Jim Murphy 44-39, the equaliser came when the commanding Andy Cornell defeated the grafter Ray Pratt 47-19.

It was left to the artistic Andy Gibbons to take on the evergreen Ray Hewitt who has played in the Mid Sussex Billiards and Snooker League for six decades, with his wealth of experience Hewitt gave his C team a deserved 3-2 victory, he achieved a confident 56-16 win. Referee Steve Barton commented that this was probably one of the tightest battles that he had refereed and was impressed with the great sportsmanship shown by both teams and the enthusiasm of the audience.
