Local horse shows in full swing

LOCAL horse shows are in full swing, with Goring Riding Club having started May with its annual In Hand show, winners below, followed by Area Show Jumping and the an Open Showjumping show at Castle Goring.

West Sussex Riding Club held its open in hand and ridden showing show, attracting many new faces to this qualifier show. Its next main show is on Sunday June 19 when it holds a jumping and showing show at the Nanny Copse in Barnham.

Arundel District Riding School held a well-supported in hand show recently when the coloured class attracted 20 entries. Most of other classes had plenty of entries.

Contestants were not deterred by the wind and the committee was delighted to have such good support despite an unpromising forecast.

A good range of classes attracted many different horse types and there were two championships in which winners took part.

The next fixture will be an Eventers Challenge on June 5 at the showground in Ford Lane, Ford.
