Louis finishes table tennis challenge at the top

LOUIS MORT-HILL finished at the top when he won the singles competition of the Worthing Table Tennis Youth Challenge last month.

Louis, in his last challenge before he moves into the adult Worthing League, defeated Hugo Okada 11-3, 9-11, 11-9, 11-7 in the final. He had defeated Rhys Jestico 11-7, 11-3, 11-4 in the semi-finals, while Hugo had progressed past Oliver Smith 9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 8-11, 11-9.

In the Plate final, Louis Packer lifted the trophy after a 11-8, 11-5 win over Toby Ellwood.

Louis Mort-Hill and Eddie Pullen were the winners of the Division One league title, while Cameron McCallam and Billie O’Loughlin won Division Two.

Max Bushby and Zac Slatter were the victors in Division Three, with Luca Finch the winner of Division Four.

Louis Mort-Hill was the handicap winner, after defeating Oliver in the final.

Isaac Sefton and his team-mate defeated Cameron and David Luff in the doubles final.

The next season begins on January 9 and will run for ten weeks, with more players wanted. Any boys or girls aged eight to 15 can apply.
