Lucy aiming to represent Great Britain again

LUCY Bunn is aiming to represent Great Britain again in show jumping, this time as a member of the Young Riders team.

Lucy (19), of Hickstead, is continuing a strong family tradition. Her grandfather, Douglas, is the founder of the famous All England Showground.

She was a highly-successful pony rider before she made an early transition to horses because of her height, and at the age of 14 was a member of the British Pony Show Jumping team that won a gold medal in Paris.

She had an excellent season last year, riding her grandfather's 11-year-old horse, Littlear. She explained: "My aunt Chloe usually rides him, but she was pregnant and I took on her rides and work."

Lucy was a member of the Junior British Nations Cup team in Compiegne last year and competed in several Junior International events on the Continent.

She had the great distinction of jumping Littlear in the famous International arena at Hickstead, during the Royal International Horse Show when she finished in a commendable tenth position.
