Luke lands top title

Luke Read has secured victory in one of Europe’s most prestigious combat sport tournaments.

Competing three times in the same day, The Fighting Tigers Gym K1 coach became the 2012 62kg Ringmasters Muay Thai champion.

Read defeated Pro EBKF Commonwealth and Southern Area champion Ross George in the first round, and then got the better of an up-an-coming fighter from the London Muay Thai Academy.

The final provided Read with the chance to avenge an earlier defeat at the hands of ISKA PRO 62kg British Muay Thai champion Mark Tamoave.

After a fairly even first round, Read upped the tempo and took the fight to his opponent. The third round saw him shift into turbo mode and scoring at will with heavy kicks and punches, he floored Tamoave with a great right hand.

Read would like to invite anyone who wants to learn a stand up fight sport to his class at The Fighting Tigers Gym on Mondays from 7.40-9.10pm.
