Luke Wright has signed a three-year extension to his contract with Sussex, which will see him remain at Hove until at least the end of the 2018 season.

The 29-year-old, who has been awarded a Benefit Year by Sussex in 2015, has been at Hove for a decade now and whilst making his name both at home and abroad as a devastating one-day player, the hard-hitting batsman enjoyed a superb 2014 season across all formats.

Wright struck 933 runs in the LV=County Championship at an average of 51.83, and his highest score of 189 came in the record Sussex sixth-wicket partnership of 335 which he shared with Ben Brown against Durham.

His 601 runs in the NatWest T20 Blast included the breathtaking 153 not out from 66 balls against Essex, to lead the Sharks to a world-record run chase.
