MATT ENSURES DERBY HONOURS ARE EVEN

ARUNDEL Football Club captain Stuart Hack blasted the deciding penalty to earn the bragging rights for Mullets as they won the Bill Merritt Trophy '” but the league points were shared after an entertaining Boxing Day derby, with Littlehampton having the better opportunities.

Early pressure by Golds, led by strike-pair Peter Brackley and Steve Davies, ended with neither finding the target but Ben O'Connor in Arundel's goal saved a stinging shot by the dangerous Brackley after good work by Adam Hunt and Grant Vanson.

It was not all one way, however. Matt Huckett had a free kick well saved by Golds' keeper Micky Phillips and Josh Sutcliffe somehow headed over from another Matt Huckett corner.
