McLoughlin back in the Zone at Arundel 10k

IT WAS was back to business with a large entry from the Tone Zone Runners for the Arundel 10k.

This well-supported race was made even more challenging with the early morning warm conditions, but that didn’t slow the eventual Tone Zone winner, Stephen McLoughlin, who finished the race first in a time of 37mins-18secs.

Tone Zone’s Marius Vitkauskas took the early lead from the start line, sprinting away from a chasing pack and opening up a notable gap within the first few minutes.

The pursuing group led by McLoughlin caught Vitkauskas by the 2k marker and McLoughlin continued to push ahead, leading until the end.

McLoughlin comfortably finished the race 36 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.

Vitkauskas was the second Tone Zone men’s runner across the line ahead of new-runner Andrew Haves.

For the ladies, Anna Kari-Enes was the first to finish for the club in a time of 46-52, ahead of Louisa Proctor in a time of 48-06.
