The Bastion Ironman Triathlon, Hever Castle

Following the untimely death of her brother in law from a heart attack, Emma Alden who has previously run marathons in Rome, Paris and Portsmouth decided she would take on the even bigger challenge of competing in The Bastion Ironman event and at the same time raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The Bastion has been carefully designed to offer the ultimate challenge for both newcomers to long-distance triathlon and experienced long-course hands. The Bastion, the final stronghold of a medieval castle, features a 3.8km river and lake swim, a true toughie of a 180km bike course with 2,000m of climbing and a 42.2km run course that takes place largely off-road including running through the grounds of the beautiful Chiddingstone Castle. Emma Completed the course in about 16 and a half hours and is delighted to raised over £1300 so far.

Tenby Long Course Weekend, Pembrokshire

Rose Ryan and Trevor Moore went all the way to Tenby for the Long Course weekend, which is in essence a long course triathlon, spread over a 3 day period. This is a very popular event and is watch by as many as 25,000 spectators. Rose participated in the Swim and Bike events whilst Trevor did all three events.

10 mile Time Trial

Sharon Chaldek competed in the David Stokes memorial Open 10 mile cycling time trial at Broadbridge Heath organised by Crawley Wheelers on behalf of Cycling Time Trials. She was delighted to be 3rd lady to finish.

South Coast Triathlon at Seaford

Andrew Biggs competed in his first Olympic Distance trathlon which included a sea swim. coming 16th overall and winning his age group age group in 2.29.55. He commented that it was the first time in his life that he'd won anything. The sea swim was shortened to 800 m for the athletes safety due to strong currents and the high winds. Andrew commented thatit was a very good event and well organised event.

North Downs Marathon

Douglas Mac Taggart continued his marathon running with the North Downs Marathon starting at Reigate Golf Course then following the scenic North Downs Trail to Box Hill above Dorking and then returning back along the same route. Doug was pleased with 4:54 on an enjoyable but tough route that was really trick underfoot with plenty of hills.

Second Annual Financial Services Corporate Open Water Swimming Champships at Thorpe Park

Simon Barton competed in this event comprising a 7km swim over a 1500m loop. Simon felt really good with his time of 25mins for his 1500m leg.
