The fourth cross country race of the 2013/14 East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League season was held at Snape Wood in Wadhurst on Sunday

This is the start of the woodland-dominated cross country courses, after the three downland courses experienced during the first half of the season.

With plenty of hills and plenty of mud this was a ‘proper’ cross country course.

It was a cold but dry morning which greeted the 139 runners at the start.

The start was uphill up a gravel track but soon this gave way to heavy mud as the runners left the main track to follow the course through the woods. The combined Uckfield/Heathield team finished fourth behind Lewes, Hailsham and Crowbourgh/Wadhurst.

Running from Uckfield were: Ryan West 41.29, Graham West 43.13, Jason Hillier 43.57, Catherine Harker 49.00 (pictured), Tanya Edmondson 53.29 and Peter Wilkes 54.18.
