Congratulations to Angela May, who won the Bronze Cup in the Wednesday Medal part of the Piltdown Ladies` Autumn Meeting with a splendid nett 68.

Brenda Allvey returned to form with nett 72, and her 85 was the best gross score of the day. Sue Hopkins won the Silver Division Cup with nett 73. Brenda shone again in the Thursday Greensomes: she and her partner Judy Robson scored a creditable 36 points, but so did Mary Nunan and Alison Hailwood, who won on countback.

The Generations League, a series of Greensomes competitions for junior members partnering older siblings or adults (who need not be members) came to its end-of-season climax on Saturday with the important Brown Bowl tournament. The winners of the Bowl were, appropriately, Alex and Andrew Crickmore, with 36 points; runners-up were John Smith and Tristan Young with 35. The Crickmores were also triumphant in the league, by a distance from Tsol and Jay Keoshgerian and the rest of the field. And so the first run of a really interesting competition, with lots of promising play by the youngsters and spirited enthusiasm all-round, came to a happy conclusion. Congratulations to Tsol and Richard Webster, who devised it, inspired it and ran it brilliantly.

Recent former captain Martin Tugwell won the Monday Stableford with 36 points. Chris Strong and Tony Lake were equal second with 35.
