Dave and Mike triumph at the London Marathon

MIKE Scholes, a 58-year-old runner with very little sight, ran a fantastic 3hrs 14mins 48sec London Marathon, guided by Dave Bradford from the Lewes Club.

Dave, who himself has the hereditary sight loss condition Retinitis Pigmentosa, helped Mike thread his way through the mass of 37,000 runners to achieve a great time. At the half-way mark Mike was on for a three-hour marathon with a time of 1h 30m 40s but just faded over the second half to finish in 51st position in his age category.
