Eagles come close to becoming first team to beat Poole

Eastbourne Eagles came close to becoming the first team to beat Poole on Saturday in a rain affected match at Arlington.

The home side led for most of the match but nosed in front as the rain became heavier and the match was called off after heat 12.

Eastbourne will point to costly falls by Lukas Dryml and Cameron Woodward which cost them points - points that would have won them the match.

Timo Lahti was again the Eagles’ top scorer with ten points in the 35-37 defeat.
