EASTBOURNE Eagles have named young Australian Taylor Poole as their No 8, writes Paul Watson.
He’s riding full-time this year in the Premier League for Ipswich but will be available for the Lifestyle Eagles if they suffer injuries or absences.
The highly-rated Poole is son of former Australian international Mick Poole, who had a glittering career, particularly at Peterborough .
Eagles’ co-promoter Mike Bellerby said: “ Taylor is an exciting Aussie prospect and I’m sure he will fit in well with our team.
“He’s ambitious and wants to ride for the Eagles. We look forward to seeing him in action.”
Last season Poole, 18, rode for Stoke in the Premier League. He made his British debut for Mildenhall the year before.
The full Eastbourne team is (not in riding order): Bjarne Pedersen, Lewis Bridger, Simon Gustafsson, Cameron Woodward, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Lukas Dryml and Dawid Lampart and No 8, Taylor Poole.
There was more good news for the Arlington camp last week when it was announced that headline sponsors, Lifestyle Europe, had scooped two major awards.
Bellerby said: “Lifestyle Europe beat off tough competition in the prestigious Automotive Magazine Awards 2011 taking the coveted Retailer of the Year and Best Retail Group.”
The Retailer of the Year award is presented to the motor retailer who provides the best quality, service, profitability, innovation and overall business plan.
The award for Best Retail Group compares those dealers with more than ten sites for their outstanding performance across all areas of the business – new cars, used cars, after-sales, accident repair, parts sales, finance and customer satisfaction.
Bellerby added: “We are delighted for the whole team at Lifestyle Europe. It’s a tremendous achievement and a great encouragement for all of us at Arlington as we get ready for the new season.”
