Eastbourne ‘Lifestyle’ Eagles secured another two points to enhance their play off push and reclaimed third place in the table at Arlington stadium on Saturday evening.
However, they were denied a third and potentially vital Elite League point by a battling Peterborough Panthers side whose determined efforts restricted the home team to a 47-43 win.
Guest Jason Doyle proved the chief mover and shaker for the Panthers with a superbly taken 15 (paid 17) point haul and he received solid support throughout, particularly from Swede Linus Sundstrom in the early part and from number one Kenneth Bjerre in the latter stages.
The Eagles used the Rider Replacement facility to cover for the injured Lewis Bridger who failed a fitness test on the afternoon of the match and now looks to be facing at least a month on the sidelines.
Finnish duo Joonas Kylmakorpi and Timo Lahti were the tall scorers with 13 (paid 14) and 11 (paid 13) respectively.
Tonight the Eagles are at Wolverhampton.
