The latest fun day at Bay View Golf Club must have left many members wondering why they usually lug round a bagful of clubs.
The format on a rare sunny day was stroke-play – with everyone limited to a choice of three clubs and a putter.
Over two rounds of the par-32 nine-hole course, Roger Bryant took the honours with a five under par net 59. In second, four strokes behind, was Paul Corcoran, while Peter Renouf finished in third place on countback, net 64. In a parallel nine-hole event, John Rogers came out on top, net 31, two shots ahead of Sue Kidd.
All members involved competed to get nearest the pin on Bay View’s two shortest holes, success on the fourth going to Bob Langridge, and on the eighth to Peter Day.
