Tom Barden and Milly Widdop put in amazing performances to claim the 12 years age group championship titles, after accumulating the most points across the two days of racing.
Tom triumphed in the 200m and 100m Individual Medley, 100m and 200m Backstroke races.
He also stormed the competition in the Butterfly events, taking gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m distances, recording an amazing personal best time of 2.39.76 in the 200m event. Tom’s success continued as he took silver in the 200m Freestyle and a bronze in 200m Breaststroke.
Brilliant Breaststroke swims saw Milly finish in top spot in the 200m and 50m distances, recording races time of 2.58.23 and 38.17 respectively. Milly was also victorious in the 200m Individual Medley, 100m and 200m Butterfly, claiming a total of 5 golds at these championships. She also secured silvers in 100m Breaststroke and Individual Medley, as well as a bronze in 200m Backstroke.
Maddie Drury (16) claimed a trio of championship medals; Gold in the 400m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle silver and bronze in the 100m Butterfly event. Craig Steenhoff (33) conquered the competition to claim the 200m Butterfly championship title, and silver in the 100m Butterfly race.
Lachlan Gower (13) had great success in the Butterfly events, sprinting into silver medal position in the 50m and 200m events. Strong swims in the 100m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley enabled him to bring home bronze medals.
Joe Golding (14) accomplished silvers after superb sprints in the 200m Freestyle and Butterfly races. Joe also went on to achieve bronze in the 100m Individual medley, in a new personal best time of 1.10.92. Ben Kebbell (17) secured silver after a fantastic 200m Freestyle recording a new race best of 1.59.02. Ben was rewarded bronze medals following brilliant swims in the 50m Backstroke and 200m Breaststroke events.
