Horam Seniors battle for Lloyd Drake Cup on a fiercely hot day

Horam Seniors battled for the Lloyd Drake Memorial Cup on Monday last week.

Lloyd was a very popular and well loved senior member of the club who sadly lost his battle to cancer last year.

This popular event in his memory was won on countback following a gruelling 18 hole stableford competition played under a fierce sun.

The winner was Don Gould (26) with 41 points, narrowly beating Dave Turner (13).

Both had one shot taken off their handicaps following the result.

Thed Seniors Texas Scramble on Monday July 22 was again played in beautiful sunshine and the score reflected the great playing conditions.

Ken Eggleston (15) and Geoff Bridge (28) amassed 24 points winning on countback from Gerry Highgate (18) and John Hollingsworth (28), who also shot 24 points.

The Gentlemen’s Monthly Stableford of July 20 was won by Dick Friend (11) with a phenomenal 44 points (-8).

Second was Geoff Huxley (21) with 39 points (-3) and third was Jack Guthrie (14) with 38 points (-2).
