Bradley Wilson-Dean flew into Britain earlier this week ready to take his place in the Eastbourne Eagles 2015 team.
He landed at Heathrow after a marathon flight from New Zealand and was met by club director, Connor Dugard.
Wilson-Dean has long been on Eastbourne Speedway’s radar. Dugard said, “We have been trying to get him over for the last four years but he has not been able to commit to riding a full season because he wanted to learn a trade.
“He was our first signing once we knew that the club had a place in the National League. The whole team has been built around him. He will become a full asset of Eastbourne Speedway.”
Wilson-Dean has an impressive motor-cycling record. Already on his CV are the New Zealand junior moto-cross championship, two New Zealand U21 championships and fourth place in the 2011 world 250cc cup where he was leading the final until his chain snapped.
Dugard said, “We really believe Brad is a huge talent who will set the National League alight this year, once he has settled in.”
By a strange coincidence, Wilson-Dean lives in Hastings, New Zealand.
