Lewes hosted the Interclub 2000, an event which sees six local clubs Lewes, Eastbourne Downs, Royal Eastbourne, Seaford Head, Blatchington and Willingdon take turns to host the event on an annual basis.
The winners on the day, Monday, October 1, were the team returning the best three net scores from the five lady team and the weather was most unkind to all. The winners were Lewes with a combined score of 227. Second were Willingdon with 240 and third were Royal Eastbourne with 255.
The best nett score on the day was from Lewes lady Mandy Hilton with a 72. The event will move to Royal Eastbourne next year and all involved will be hoping for better weather.
The Viner Salver, contested by current and past committee members of Lewes was won this year by Claudine Lower with 38 points. A hole-in-one on the 12th helped her beat Tony Duc on countback into second place.
