Hailsham Ladies 1s turned around a 2-0 half-time deficit to claim a point as they drew 3-3 with Brighton Hove 3s at home.

Starting too slowly and with their defence muddling, Hailsham allowed Brighton to score two goals within the first 20 minutes.

Hailsham eventually picked the pace up, creating chances of their own and winning a number of penalty corners, however they were unable to convert any to goals, and went into the half time break 2-0 down.

A rearrangement of the squad meant that Hailsham came out in the second half with all guns blazing, with mid-field play from Sarah Haird, Lyndesy Horne and Emma Allen leading to a penalty corner being awarded. Haird injected to Alison Headey, slipped to Toni Bray who deftly swept the ball past the keeper to bring Hailsham back into the match.

Brighton responded with a third goal, bringing the score to 3-1 with 15 minutes left on the clock. Hailsham stepped up a gear and soon Sarah Haird swept in Hailsham’s second from a penalty corner, before an amazing run through mid-field gave Sue Cable a one-on-one with the keeper, and with a light tap the ball went round the keeper for the equaliser. With Worthing 1s recording another victory this week, Hailsham drop to third in division.
