Lewes moved up to twelfth in the Ryman Premier Division after an excellent 4-2 win at Wingate and Finchley last night (Tuesday).
Wingate took the lead through an early Wayne O’Sullivan penalty, before Ben Godfrey drew Lewes level on 22 minutes.
Chris Breach then put the Rooks ahead with a header from a corner two minutes beofre the break.
Steve Brinkhurst then extended the visitors’ lead two minutes into the second half, before former Rook Anthony Thomas pulled it back to 3-2 on 73 minutes.
But Ryan Fergany made the points safe three minutes from time when he netted from a free kick for the fourth.
The only downside on a cold night was captain Breach’s second dismissal in two matches for an alleged stamp on a Wingate player, only seen by a linesman. Breach was also sent off for two yellow cards at Whitehawk on Saturday.
Lewes host Concord Rangers at the Pan on Saturday. Kick off is 2pm.
