October Focus on Priory School

Osho Field
Osho Field

Following the success of the Brownlee brothers at the London 2012 Olympics, we wanted to highlight our very own triathlete here at Priory.

Osho Field in year 9 has competed in junior triathlons for four years and currently races for the Sussex U15 team. Osho (pictured) is a member of Bodyworks XTC based in Eastbourne. The club specialises in triathlon and Swimming training. During the triathlon season, Osho can train up to 14 hours a week. She competes over distances of 400m swim, 13 kilometre cycle and 2.5k run. Osho’s aspirations as regards triathlon are to continue competing in the league races to qualify for selection to the South East region team. When pushed as to her favourite discipline, she said: “I love the swim and have been selected for the Sussex Cross Country team due to my triathlon work, but my reason for competing is to have fun, stay fit and make new friends.”

Football in brief

Yr 7 v Ratton had a convincing win 7-2 that included some clinical finishing, especially by Jonathon Prowse and Robert Malila. However, they were then outplayed by good opposition to lose their second game of the season to Cavendish School. At 3-0 down at half time, they showed fantastic team spirit to score two in the second half. They eventually lost 5-2.

Yr 9 v RattonWon 4-2 in a brilliant team performance that included fantastic goals from Sam Bentley and Henry Rousham.

Yr 10 v Ringmer Won 2-0. This was a hard-fought win for the U15s against an old rival that they lost to in last year’s cup final. The years 10s battled hard throughout the match and were rewarded with a win in their opening game.
