Pevensey geared up for Masters competition

More than 120 past Masters will be competing for the National Laser Masters Champion title at Pevensey Bay Sailing Club today on Friday, June 19.

With many of the athletes electing to stay in the camping village on site this promises to be one of the most competitive and fun events of the year, in the Masters Laser calendar.

Competitors travelling from more than nine different countries have entered, coming from as far afield as Australia to battle for the most coveted single handed title in the UK Masters calendar.

Four reigning World Champions in different age categories will be racing in the event which is split into two fleets; Radial and Standard Laser.

With eight races scheduled over the three days it promises to be a true test of skill to find the next Rooster Laser Masters National Champion

Three races are scheduled for Friday, June 19, three races for Saturday, two races for Sunday. It is likely to be three races sailed back to back, depending on conditions. The warning signal for the first race will be at 12.35pm.

Planned race duration for each race is approx 45 minutes. Course(s) to be sailed will be posted on the board by the clubhouse entrance on the day.

Registration will be from 19:00 – 21.00 hrs on Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19. Commodores briefing at 11.30am in the main room of the clubhouse.
