This Autumn, Royal Eastbourne Golf Club were delighted to welcome into office their new club manager, Neil Darnell.

Neil has taken the reins from retiring club manager David Lockyer.

Neil said, “I am extremely proud to be taking over as Club Manager at such a prestigious club. I hope I can continue the great work David has done over his time in office and carry on the forward momentum the club has.”

Neil joins the club from another highly regarded Sussex club, Mannings Heath.

During his time there he was employed as the Golf Operations Manager and Head Club Professional.

Mannings Heath Golf Club is owned by 5 star hotel operators Exclusive Hotels.

“The experience I gained working for Exclusive Hotels was incredible. The opportunity to see what’s required to maintain a 5 star rating in the hotel world was fascinating.”

After being in office for more than two months Neil has been able to familiarise himself with the clubs operation.

“We have a fantastic golf course which is playable all year round thanks to our chalk bedrock.

“We are very fortunate to have one of the country’s best Head Greenkeepers, Paul McDowell, who ensures the very best playing surfaces are produced day in day out.”

To enable others to join one of the best clubs in the county and take advantage of playing golf all year round, a one off offer has been launched.

The club is offering the opportunity to join the club now and pay no subscriptions until the 1st of April 2015.

In effect the club are giving away three months membership free!
