Seaford ace the Sussex tennis awards

Seaford & Blatchington Tennis Club has been voted Club of the Year at the Sussex Tennis Awards.

New courts, floodlights and facilities plus a high quality coaching programme all played a part in gaining the prestigious award.

It was accepted by Euan Rayner-Gray, age 13, from Newhaven, one of the club’s promising juniors who led the nomination, and chairman Steve Williams at ceremony at the Amex Stadium in Falmer.

The club was also nominated for several other awards; Dennis Hedges in the Volunteer of the Year category and Dan Stoner for Coach of the Year.

Outstanding Seaford junior players were awarded their County Colours for playing for Sussex at the event, which was hosted by BBC journalists Ian Palmer and Beverly Thompson.

Anna Kilsby earned her 14 & Under colours, Elise Van Heuvelen earned her 16 & Under colours and Evelyn Kilsby won the summer 9 & Under leaderboard as well as gaining her county colours.
