Seven Heathfield stars make Sussex U15 squad

Seven players from Heathfield & Waldron Rugby Club have been selected for the Sussex U15 county side.

Jacob Perrit, Nick Cook, Ollie Osler-Holt, Ben Boorman, James Young, Mylo Vanner-Mackew and Lewis Headland join 29 other players from around the county.

Dave Cook, coach of Heathfield U15s said: “This is fantastic recognition for these seven players, but also the U15 squad as a whole. Several other players trialled for the Sussex side, with everyone representing themselves and the club admirably.”

Heathfield U15s are enjoying an unbeaten league season to date in defending their cup and league title from last season.

Hadon Westerby, the club’s rugby development officer said: “We are very proud of these players, who join a long list of more than 24 HWRFC players to represent the county this season. HWRFC is represented in all areas of Sussex and Harlequins rugby; as players, coaches and volunteers.”

The Sussex U15 side play Middlesex, Surrey and Hampshire later in the season.

With England hosting the Rugby World Cup in 2015, and Rugby Sevens an Olympic sport in 2016 now is a perfect time to come to HWRFC and get involved with rugby.

Everyone is welcome to give rugby a try and more information about the club can be found on the club website, by contacting Hadon Westerby on 07887 525 080 or alternatively emailing at
