Seventeen Lewes Golf Club captains, past and present, enjoyed a celebration lunch in the club house following their Past Captains’ competition.

Current Club Captain Ian Newman (centre left) presented the winner’s prize to Peter Boyse. Tony Duc (left), who came second, and David Cosham, third, are also pictured.

Ian’s own moment of golfing triumph was to come later. when he won the Monthly Medal with a round of nett 67, a shot better than James Lee’s 68. Two further back in third was Ashleigh Olliver, with nett 70.

Past Captain’s Competition winner Peter Boyse came fourth this time round, with nett 71, whilst Mel Boyse, herself a former Ladies’ Captain, won the Ladies’ Medal with a nett 71.

In the Saturday Stableford, Tom Hilton led home an impressively large field of 62 with 43 points. One behind was runner-up Paul Sandford (42), while Trevor Hill beat Andrew James to third place on countback. Both scored 40.

Graham Wood (31) scored best in the latest round of the Seniors Eclectic, played in tough conditions.
