Speedway fans unite in mourning Lee Richardson

Speedway fans across the country are united in mourning former Eastbourne Eagle Lee Richardson who tragically died in a track crash in Poland on Sunday.

Supporters put club, country and individual rivalries to one side to express their support for the Richardson family, who live in Hastings, and to express their grief at the loss of one of England’s best riders.

Many fans took to Twitter to express their feelings and were joined by current riders, including the world champion, Greg Hancock, and former world champion, Nicki Pedersen, also a former Eastbourne rider.

The management of Eastbourne Speedway have expressed their condolences and will hold a minute’s silence on Saturday in memory of Lee.
