ST BEDE’S U15 Girls’ cricket season continues to flourish.
After finishing third at Lord’s in the indoor final they have now been crowned Sussex County champions.
On route to the final St Bede’s beat Hove Park, Moria House and Roedean to win the East Sussex Division. In the final the two regional champions compete to have an overall winner. With Millais winning the West Sussex Division it was going to be a competitive final.
In the final St Bede’s batted first and scored 102-2 with Tibble and Quinn scoring the majority of the runs.
In Millais’ innings they scored 70-7 with Tibble being the pick of the bowlers taking four wickets, Calliard taking a superb catch and a wicket, Quinn and Worall getting one wicket each as well. This was a great finale for a very talented group of girls.
In other news the school will welcome Jon Royce as its new head of hockey from September. Jon, pictured, was head coach of the GB women’s hockey team for the Sydney Olympics and will also teach PE.
