SEAFORD Netball Club (SNC) has honoured the work of two determined members who have scored the massive goal of bringing more than 25 players into the game.

Bouquets were presented to Kim Beadle and Clare Flack at SNC’s annual Christmas meal for their tireless work boosting the club’s membership and profile in its 10th anniversary year.

The pair spearheaded a major recruitment and marketing campaign which included attending all the school fetes at Seaford’s primary schools to attract youngsters to a new team and mums to the club’s Back to Netball sessions. They also attended the Wave Leisure Downs Family Fun Day and Wave Diamond Jubilee Sporting Celebration at Seaford Head. The club celebrated with a 10-year anniversary party and awards evening at Seaford Sailing Club and a mixed tournament in September.

SNC’s committee members said: “We wanted to show our appreciation for all the hard work Kim and Clare have put into growing the club this year.

“Their dedication has paid off with an increase in players of all ages and levels - the future for netball in Seaford is looking very bright indeed.”

The club started in 2002 as a junior section for 11-16 year olds playing netball in the East Sussex Junior League. It now offers opportunities for players of all ages to compete in the sport with a Junior Section (ages 10-14) in the East Sussex Junior League, a Development Section (ages 15-19) in the Adult Eastbourne Netball League and four Senior Teams (19 years +) in the Adult Eastbourne Netball League. The club also runs a Back to Netball Programme, an enjoyable session of skills, drills and game play held every first and third Wednesday of the month at Seaford Head Sports Hall from 7pm-8.30pm for those who would like to try the game again (£5 per session) and are establishing a new team Seaford Starlets for 5-9 year olds commencing January 2013.
