Past Lewes Captains Terry Ferber and Tony Duc played in the recent Sussex Captains Association event at East Brighton and won the Barstow Tankards.

The pair returned a score of 45 points in the 3/4 handicap 4-ball better ball competition. Terry said: “Tony Duc played the key part with three birdies including a chip-in for a three for four points at the difficult 17th hole.”

The Ladies’ Autumn Meeting of October 3 saw Ellen Dunne the Scratch winner with a gross 88. Margaret Sutcliffe was second with a gross 90. The handicap salver was won by Sue Richardson with nett 72, and runner-up was Jane Burfoot with nett 73. The nearest the pins were won by Mandy Hilton and Margaret Sutcliffe. Midweek medal of Oct 4 was won by John Burch nett 71. Runner-up Sid Francis (nett 73) beat Tom Richardson on countback.
