Lewes manager Garry Wilson is calling on his players to be ‘brave and positive’ ahead of this Saturday’s crucial visit to the bottom of the table Hampton & Richmond.

This follows a bad weekend starting with 2-0 defeat against Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday and a 5-1 reverse against Margate on Monday.

Wilson said: “I thought we deserved something out of the game on Saturday.

“We were the better side for long periods and the result was not a fair reflection.

“On Monday we were playing the team who I believe will win the league.

“In the first 20 minutes we gifted them two goals but at 1-1 I thought we were doing well. Ollie Rowe was sent-off in the second half and we tried to contain them.”

Wilson wants his side to get a positive result on Saturday away to Hampton, despite a long injury list.

He said: “It’s important we start getting points on the board after a disastrous start.

“We need to pull together, be brave and positive and our forwards start to put the ball in the back of the net so we can get the confidence to push up the table.”
