Current WKF World Karate Champion, Luigi Busa, paid a visit to Heathfield last weekend – much to the delight of students of the sport in the town.
The Italian won his second world individual title in Paris last year in front of 20,000 people at the Marie de Paris. He was in London and Sussex for his first two-day UK seminar, and was invited to Heathfield by the Frontier School of Karate School (FSK).
FSK’s Chief Instructor Paul Simmons said: “To have the very best professional middleweight karate fighter in the world come to Sussex was a great experience for all the students.
“He was a great inspiration to Sussex’s up and coming Karate athletes. Luigi taught more than 100 Karateka during the weekend and we at FSK look forward to a return from him in 2014.”
