A young Lewes side reclaimed the resurrected Chandlers Cup with a 1-0 win over Ringmer at the Caburn on Tuesday night.

A 42nd minute strike from Callum Connor proved the difference between the sides though the win was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests. Steve Brinkhurst, making a welcome return from knee injury, missed a first half penalty but Connor won the game with a close range volley into the roof of the net following a Brinkhurst flick-on from a Ryan Fergany corner.

Lewes XI: Armstrong-Ford, Stevenson (Madhani 59), Crabb, Vickers, James (Badger 75), Dove, Brinkhurst, Millar (Marshall 59), Connor (Willis-Brown 75), Peake, Fergany. No unused Lewes subs.

Ringmer donated gate money to the Chandlers £50k Challenge charity for cystic fibrosis while Lewes gave the prize money they received for winning the game back to the charity.
